Angela Speck, 'Mendocino Coast' an original oil painting that measures 9 inches by 12 inches and is gallery wrapped.
Angela is a local here in town and well known for her charming and iconic Mendocino Village vistas and seascapes.
Angela was born into an artistic and creative family – her father designed and manufactured custom jewelry for Cartier’s of London and her grandfather was a jeweler on the West Bank in Paris. As she was growing up in England, it was her father’s guiding hand that helped her paint her first wave at the age of twelve. The family moved to the United States in 1956. Employment at Disney as a young woman involved working on Robin Hood.
In 1989 Angela and her family (now including husband and children), made a move to Mendocino, precipitated her taking her art seriously and participating in as many art classes and workshops as possible, some with Olaf Palm. Her friend and mentor, E. John Robinson, deeply influenced her development. Angela draws her inspiration from the picturesque Victorians in the village of Mendocino, local vineyards, and the beautiful and multiple moods of the sea. She was featured on the cover of the Mendocino Traveler’s Guide and has been selected to paint one of the highly prized wine bottles (since 1996) for WINESONG. In 2006, Angela was selected Artist of the Year by WINESONG.
Angela’s paintings are represented in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.
